ALCOHOLISM AND ITS CURE
By John E. Russell

CHAPTER 4

THE CURE: RAPHA

Rapha was founded by Robert McGee, who now serves as President. Rapha hospital treatment is provided in a caring, Christian environment.

Over 10,000 people have received treatment at 22 Rapha Hospital Treatment Centers throughout the United States. Over 91 percent express satisfaction with their treatment and refer others to Rapha.

Professionals (MD, PhD, MSW) head the six programs that are offered: (1) Adult Psychiatric Program; (2) Adult Substance Abuse Program; (3) Adolescent Psychiatric Program; (4) Adolescent Substance Abuse Program; Children's Care Program and (5) Geriatric Care Program.

The Adult Psychiatric Program addresses the needs of adults 18 years and older. Restoration of people with severe and disabling emotional problems is the goal.

The Adult Substance Abuse Program is designed to help alcoholics and drug abusers. Sensitive counsel and intensive education in a drug-free environment facilitates recovery.

The Adolescent Psychiatric Program is designed to meet the needs of troubled teenagers.

The Adolescent Substance Abuse Program is designed for teenagers who have slipped into alcohol and drug abuse. This effective program includes the learning of personal significance and the resulting raising of self-esteem.

The Children's Care Program is designed for children, ages 4 through 11. Therapy is administered via behavioral guidance, teaching, exercise, drama and play. Accredited academic education is included.

The Geriatric Care Program is designed for senior adults with acute needs. It is a full range of psychiatric and substance abuse services. Seniors are treated with dignity.
